| Talked to David (Valentine). He believes that a glitch took out the site for now, possibly due to all the problems we had with modules and stuff (PM's and the user control panel did not work upon restarting and were tweaked to work). He and his brother (a professional programmer) are meeting within the hour to see about restoring things. It is hoped that the site will be fully restored by this evening (US time). |

Very bad news. It appears that we were NOT on the most updated version of phpBB3 and that what crashed our site was that Creol tried to install a mod that required the Gold version (which we did not have).
That means that again, all data is lost. HOWEVER, it does not mean that the data is gone forever. It is very likely that a separate forum can be made with the data where we can move posts and stuff over, so all those long posts you made will not go to waste.
I am very sorry about this mess, but it appears that the first time we were on phpBB3 version 3.0.R5 then the second time we were on the Beta version then finally, now we are on the Gold version which is the finalized one. I don't know why we did not get that version before, but we are on it now. That means that our mods will be able to work without destroying our site because the mods are written for the Gold version.
For now, join on back up, then carry on as you were. You do NOT have to remake your bio or anything else, it will be coming along shortly so you can cut and paste it. |
